Our conveyor pulleys and drums are precision-manufactured according to both legacy TD75 standards and the modern TDII standard, offering heavy-duty performance for rubber conveyor belt systems. With seamless welded steel shells, accurately processed shaft assemblies, and static balance testing, they ensure low vibration, long service life, and reliable operation in demanding bulk material handling environments.
In a belt conveyor system, pulleys (drums) serve several critical functions:
Drive the belt by transmitting power and changing direction (drive pulleys, tail pulleys, snub pulleys)
Provide tensioning and return of the belt (take-up drums)
Support loaded and unloaded belt segments, and ensure belt wrap and tracking
In heavy-impact zones, the pulley shell and lagging must resist material impact and abrasion
Selecting a high-quality pulley ensures the conveyor belt runs smoothly, reduces downtime, avoids shell deformation, prevents vibration-induced damage, and reduces maintenance cost.
Compatibility with Both TD75 and TDII Standards
We produce TD75-standard pulleys designed for retrofit and older system compatibility.
We also offer TDII-standard pulleys manufactured to modern specifications, suitable for current conveyor systems.
Precision Fabrication & Material Quality
Seamless steel tubing or welded steel shells, flame-cut and machined to ensure uniform thickness and concentricity.
Use of high-grade 45# (or equivalent) round steel shafts and sleeves, with careful machining to eliminate eccentricity and reduce vibration.
For high radial load applications (>50 kN for TD75, >80 kN for TDII), we incorporate stress-relief, static balance testing at belt speeds >2.5 m/s.
Optimised Sealing & Bearing Assembly
High-quality bearings and bearing blocks are employed, with inner bearing enlargement and heat-fit assembly to reduce bearing damage.
According to manufacturers referencing Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) standards, pulleys should meet defined run-out, shell thickness and load ratings to ensure service life.
Adapted for Heavy Duty and Custom Applications
We can manufacture drive pulleys, lagged pulleys, wing pulleys, split pillow block drums, cage drums, and other specialised types to match your conveyor design.
Shell diameters from Φ114 mm up to Φ2400 mm (or more), lengths up to 3400 mm, and custom face widths — allowing adaptation to wide-belt, high-capacity systems.
Energy Efficiency & Longevity
By controlling shell thickness, bearing friction and static balance, the conveyor system’s energy consumption and maintenance intervals can be significantly improved.
For instance, standard drum pulleys meeting CEMA B105.1 are recommended not to exceed belt speeds of approx. 800 ft/min (~4.1 m/s).
Below is a table summarising technical reference values for conveyor pulleys/drums derived from third-party industry standards. These values are for guidance only and should be adapted to your specific application and belt system.
| Parameter | Typical Value / Range | Notes & Source |
|---|---|---|
| Standard drum pulley diameters | 200 mm (8″), 250 mm (10″), 315 mm (12″), 400 mm (16″), 500 mm (20″), 630 mm (25″), 800 mm (32″), 1000 mm (40″), 1250 mm (50″), 1400 mm (56″), 1600 mm (64″) | Typical range of welded steel drum pulleys. |
| Maximum belt speed (standard class) | ≤ 800 ft/min (~4.1 m/s) for CEMA B105.1 standard drum pulleys | Exceeding this may require engineered-duty pulleys. |
| Shell run-out tolerance | Diameter 8″–24″: max 0.125″; 30″–48″: 0.188″; 54″–60″: 0.250″ | Ensures minimal eccentricity & vibration. |
| Load rating example | For 24″ diameter pulley, maximum rated load is ~345 PIW at 180° wrap according to CEMA B105.1 | Indicates mismatch risk if belt tension is higher. |
| Shell diameter / width relation | Face width often equal to belt width + 2″ (for belts ≤42″) or belt width +3″ (for 48″–60″ belts) | Ensures full belt contact and effective wrap. |
